According to a organisation in Odisha, “If students from Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu and Gujarat can take the test in their regional language as per their choice, then why not Odia students. Since a large number of students from Odisha will also appear for the test, those passing from Council of Higher Secondary Education in Odia medium may face difficulty. Odia students should not be deprived of the chance to appear the test in their mother tongue,” a member of the organization said on Monday.
Nearly 40,000 students who passes 12th with Odia medium may appear for the medical entrance test. “Given a chance, many of them may like to appear the test in Odia language. It would be easier for them to crack the test if they take it in their mother tongue,” said Subrat Prusty, a member of the cultural body.
“We have sent our representation demanding NEET in Odia language to the MCI and have also asked the state government to follow up the matter for the benefit of hundreds of meritorious students,” said Subas Das another member.
Lets see what MCI decides for this one.
