AIIMS, PGI Chandigarh  &  JIPMER which have been set up by acts of Parliament, will have their own entrance procedures and will not be included in National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for postgraduate medical courses(NEET PG).

Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) and all othe medical colleges will be a part of NEET-PG.

The NEET-PG for dental courses will be conducted by AIIMS for admission in MDS courses offered  by all dental colleges coming under the ambit of the Dental Council of India.

A total of 20,000 seats are available through NEET-PG in 350 Medical Colleges.

 Common Entrance Test (CET) for admission to Medical graduate Courses across the country i.e. National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test for Medical graduate Courses – MBBS (NEET-UG ) shall be held in May 2012 for admissions in the academic year 2012-2013.

Exclusions from NEET – UG 2012:

The NEET medical entrance examination would cover most of the medical colleges in India. The exceptions
listed out are

  1.  AFMC- Armed Forces Medical College,
  2. AIIMS- All India Institute of Medical Sciences
  3.  Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER- Chandigarh)

The MCI has also clarified that the new entrance test will not interfere with the management quota of the private
medical and dental colleges.
